This is Liebe, (pronounced Lee-Buh, it is German for love), a Bavarian Mountain Scenthound (Bayerische Gebirgsschweißhund), or BMH for short. Her breed was created for specializing in "cold-nose" tracking where the track is many hours old. She is a very loving dog and despite being described as a 'reserved' breed with strangers, she has not met a stranger yet!
Liebe is a pure-bred Bavarian Mountain Hound. She is the daughter of Mother Picabo and Father Boone. She also has 7 other siblings who are also working and tracking dogs. Liebe's tracking career started at the age of 5 months in 2020 and continues to this day. She has helped many hunters and friends alike by tracking wounded deer.
Liebe has earned 2 out of 3 tracking certifications, available through United Blood Trackers, to wounded game tracking dogs in the United States. She completed her UBT-1 certification in May of 2021, and her UBT-2 certification in May 2022.
To date, Liebe has 150+ recoveries at only 4 years old. She continues to help hunters and educate others about tracking dogs and the benefits of having an experienced hound to come track.
Kenzie Taylor is the chauffeur, for Liebe the Kentucky K9. She was introduced to the tracking game by Lance Brantley with On Track, who brought his hound to track a wounded deer for her in 2018. Since that day, a new passion has come into her life.
Time was invested shadowing for 2 years, into learning what all entailed in tracking wounded game, deer specifically. Meeting new people and making new friends along the way only furthered her love for tracking. By fortune in 2020, the opportunity to own, train, and handle her own hound became a reality.
When hunting or tracking season isn't open, Kenzie works as a Telemetry/Stepdown Travel Nurse. She is always reading and studying the latest information available about tracking wounded game, and applying that information to practice tracks for her and Liebe. This allows the team to train properly in the off-season to prepare for the next and give hunters the best chance of success finding their game.
Kenzie also started her UBT Apprentice Judge Journey in 2024 to complete and become an official judge for United Blood Trackers to test other tracking teams and help them develop and hone their skills, while also getting certified as tracking teams. She enjoys helping people, so it’s only natural that she LOVES helping people through tracking as well!
