When it comes to On-Lead tracking, my dog is anything but slow. She RUNS the entirety out of sheer excitement on the line. This pack is for the minimalist who wants a BOUNCEFREE pack while running the track line. Check out their other options for what suits you best.
You pay once, you cry once... or until the boots finally wear out on you right? A hefty price tag, but these HanWaag came recommended by several EXPERIENCED women in the tracking world. The grip these boots have is like no other. Great ankle support, and I honestly prefer these over anything else. Only boots I wear all season!
If you can't ever seem to find a lead you like, You're picky... If you make your leads, you are officially a crazy person, and welcome to the club!
There doesn't exist a lead available to buy, that hits all the points when it comes to what you want with a lead line.
I make my own for my liking, ease of use, and practicality. If you're interested in one, shoot me a message.
When it comes to GPS I rely on:
One of the most experienced trackers alive recommended a GPS booster for my phone from Garmin.
These things have saved me a lot of money to track, without having to have a high-priced GPS Dog collar. It would be nice to have, but for me and the way I track, it is not practical.
When it comes to headlamps. I have personally discovered it matters more to me the brightness/lumens available, than the name.
I simply run a headlamp off Amazon that I discovered and really like. 1 charge lasts about 6-8 hours, which is great because I keep 3 total and have 2 ready at all times. When I am done with 1, I place it on charge and get the next in my pack ready to track. The other one goes into the pack as a backup on those those time-eating tracks.
When it comes to being a female tracker, comfort isn't always part of it. Until, I have discovered what worked for me. When it comes to pants, I have different sets. For summer, I run very thin pants to beat the heat, and for winter I run DSG Kortni Upland Pant. Fit is GREAT for petite/short legged females like me. Its just like I am wearing jeans, but fleece lined for warmth, and legitimately STOP BRIARS. That'ss all I care about.
I run one of my KyK9 T-shirts in the summer, and a long-sleeve or hoody of KyK9 in the colder months.
